Working during pregnancy

Having a baby is a huge change of circumstances, do you know your maternity and paternity rights? If you and/or your partner work you have a legal entitlement to paid leave.

If you have been employed for at least 26 weeks up to the15th week before your due date, and earn more than £112 per/week. You must give your employer proof of your pregnancy, a MAT B1 and at least 28 days’ notice of when you want your leave to start.

MAT B1

In this section you can find information about maternity and paternity rights including maternity leave and your pay entitlement.
